FAQ’s
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance however I will provide you a Superbill to submit to your insurance company. Lactation services are legislated as covered by insurance but fair warning, reimbursement takes time and doesn’t always happen. Please visit the National Women’s Law Center to learn more about receiving services under the Healthcare Law.
Best practice - contact your insurance company ahead of time.
I do keep my prices at a minimum by keeping my travel super local and in the “neighborhood.”
Payment is due at the time of online scheduling.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
To cancel, please text me asap at 704-236-9610 with your first name and appointment time. Reschedule your appointment through the online scheduler.
I get that life as a new parent is unpredictable and ask for a cancellation of 24 hours ahead.
Late cancellations impact the ability of other families to schedule appointments and I may have had to make arrangements for my family that may need to be altered. Sessions cancelled under 24 hours are non-refundable but may be rescheduled.
Where do you travel?
I am in the “neighborhood“ of Southeast Charlotte, NC; specifically the “neighborhoods” along Sardis and Monroe Roads. I keep prices low and respond quickly because I’m your neighbor! Neighborhoods include Sherwood Forest, Stonehaven, Lansdowne, Medearis, Sardis Woods, Sardis Forest. I serve from Rama Road to Matthews-Pineville Road and over to MoRA and Oakhurst. Additional in-person fees assessed if out of this zone.
Will you be able to help me?
I surely hope so! I bring a lot of training, knowledge and compassion to each consultation. I also do a lot of research and with your permission, may ask for support from other professionals if I’m stumped.
We will certainly develop a plan together that you feel confident in achieving but your action and resolve is also required. Occasionally our goals shift and change with new information.
How many sessions will we need?
Breastfeeding is a new relationship for both you and your baby and often takes several lactation appointments to work through issues. The care plan addresses many different concepts such as milk supply, latch and position, baby’s oral anatomy and mom’s breast anatomy, along with exercises to support improvement, all which take repetition and practice to build confidence.
For each lactation consultation, I provide you two weeks of email support and follow up. After two weeks, we will reevaluate. If things haven’t improved, we may schedule a new consultation to dig deeper.
